Personal background
From Banchory, Scotland I started Seti in May 99 and for 10 years used a 486 which I upgraded myself to a Pentiun, then P2, P3 and finally P4, all for fun, before catching the crunching bug. Have 3 machines running currently and the wife would like me to ebay all the old parts and cases from various upgrades.
Currently investigating liquid cooling and hope to knock something together soon.
At 50 yrs old I have no professional IT experience - I run a hotel - so the PC is a bit of a hobby and completely self taught!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am 100% positive that there is something out there worth finding, though I doubt it will be in my lifetime.
Even if it's only bacteria on another planet we need to explore to give the human race room to expand outwards and save this planet!
