Personal background
I'm 31 years old, I live near Manchester in the North West of England, I've always been fascinated by what exactly is happenning outside of our tiny minute atom in the universe. I'm not permanently employed, but I do temp work in offices and the like.... I love computers, I love Manchester United and I love the thought of there being life somewhere else in this ever expanding universe....

I found out about SETI@home through 'Computer Buyer' by Dennis Publishing in the UK in a '10 things you didn't know you could do with the internet' article. I have signed up for two other 'distributed' computing groups, one which searches for a cure for cancer and another that searches for the next biggest prime number. Who knows, it could be me that gets all three.... hmmmm... probably not, but what the heck.... my PC is dDooing some good.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Does extraterrestrial life exist? phew... that's a big question and has so many answers. Religion disagrees with it as it disputes there being a 'One God' but me? Astrophysicists disagree that we would ever be able to meet these people as faster than light travel is allegedly impossible!! who knows what could happen, maybe not in our lifetime but I would love to think that our future descendants could actually travel to other planets and possibly meet up with the people/creatures/beings that have caused so much excitement in films and especially by making those wierd crop circles that have baffled scientists for years
