Personal background
I joined SETI@HOME because I wanted to know myself that we had received a message from intellegent life. I also think it would be really cool if it was my computer that found the message or anomoly, that would give us a clue as to there presence. I also think its about time our race got of its backside and started to explore space. Not from some observatory or darkroom looking at pictures that may be clues but actually getting into space and exploring with first hand experience.

I have always said if there was life out there and it landed with a friendly greating, I would be the first to be on their ship and exploring the wonders that they have already seen. Until there was a chance to get hold of my own ship, then i'd go looking for goodies that I could trade with this planet. Like :- Art, Ceramics, Tecnology, Literature and of course spaceships. That would kick start this planet into a new era of exploration and advancement.

I hate the fact that in the 60-70's technology came on in leaps and bounds, and there were no boundarys to their train of thought. Nowadays we have to make sure that everything is riskfree or theres no way we are going to do anything......

I'm 29, I live with my partner and son, I love them both very much. My hobbies are :- collecting Startrek voyager videos, stargazing with my 7" telescope, going to the gym (albeit very rarely!), browzing the web looking at all the conspiracy sites (which are mostly ..erm....hot air...!), playing games on my PC and writing my name all over my cell wall, whilst chanting Vogon love poems to my grandma.........(yeah I know its from the hitchickers guide to the galaxy, I have plenty of copies from the pan galactic publishing company)......

Now heres where I sound really geeky but it has to be said (mind you I think I already surpassed that ages ago).....Live Long And Prosper!

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
