| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| There is something out there I am sure. Just do the math, A million galaxies, and a billion planets, countless places where life could spawn, thrive, and evolve. But on the other hand I don't think I will live to see any solid proof of life on other planets. The distance is far too great. That's quite a disappointment really, since I think that proof of alien life will be the best thing that could happen to us earthlings. Perhaps we will finally get our act together and we will no longer fight over petty differences like race, country, colour, or religion. Because maybe, just maybe, we will realise that it's a small world after all. And we are but stardust in a universe, which is bigger, then we could ever realise. |
