Personal background
I'm originally from South Wales in the United Kingdom but now live in the Forest of Dean with my wife and daughter. Born in 1966, I work in the electrical wholesaling industry as a 'do-it-all'(if it needs doing it lands on my desk!). I'm interested in Science Fiction and Fantasy (I actually liked Crusade - pity they trashed it) and get involved in charity work and community work. My main hobby is historical re-enactment with the Sealed Knot Society - the 17th Century re-enactment society. Hence the pictures!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I've always been interested in the possibility of life 'out there' because of my interest in Science Fiction. When I heard about Seti@Home via the Planetary Society (I am a member) I joined up. I think Seti@Home is a very worthwhile project as contact with - or at least knowing of the possibility of - life other than our own will excite the whole of humanity. I believe there is life out there somewhere - but do we have the means to find it? Only through projects like this can we succeed - if we don't try we won't know.

The dangers? We've all seen Independance Day - yes, it could happen. But there will be contact at some stage so we should try and organise it on our terms.

Let's be positive - any space faring race will be advanced enough to be civilised. Vulcans they may not be - Klingons they won't. Let's do it!
