Personal background
HI, I live in Stevenage harts UK, 43 yeas old, I am a computers network engineer, working in London, I have one PC running SETI 24/7 I hope to have some more, as soon as I get the wife to say yes!!
my web site is www.ttcomputers.co.uk
I have been interested in space all my life, and I hope to be a round when we meet some one from out there.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
If you think we are the only live in the galaxy then you have not leant anything in your life. The more time that goes by the human race have done so much, we have been to the moon and back, that was in 1969 and now in 2002 we have map the building blocks of live it’s self, and so much more in-between.

We will only find them when we get to the point ware we go out in to the galaxy, Star Trek is only 1000 yeas a way. Look back 1000 yeas and see what we were doing then and what we are doing now, so to say it will never happen is some what short sighted.

The dangers of discovery is us look at us now if you have a different colour skin or from a different country you are an outsider, look at the history of all the country’s in the world an you’ll no what I am taking about. When we can live on the planet a one then we are ready to go and fined new live at there.

Transmitting a beacon! Can we cope with the consequences of this, I don’t think so, do you?
The info that we send! Well if we got info from out there, and it showed people killing each other and some of the planet living a good live and some of the planet dyeing because they have no food, what does this say about the race on that planet? And they create weapons the can destroy parts of there planet, would we want to met them?

Why I run SETI@home is the hope that we can fine life out there that can help us to become more than we are, and live as one on this small planet in the big galaxy.

My suggestion is to have a station set up on the moon, as the lack of atmosphere and interference from all of earth radios and TV etc, transmissions would help to hear more of the signals coming from out there.

If you have any comments to what you have just read please e-mail me at t.thompson@dsl.pipex.com
All the best from Tony
