Profile: Programmed.com SetiGroup

Personal background
I am a computer consultant (really I am) from Eau Claire, Wisconsin. I've been doing this for aver 20 years and I still enjoy the work. As any good computer person should I eat pizza and drink beer. I'm heavily into Taekwondo & Martial Arts. Check out www.atf.nu. I need to be in order to keep eating pizza and drinking beer. I own a cool domain name, www.programmed.com.

I have a beautiful 6 year old daughter "The Peanut" and a 4 year old son. I have good friends and family and enjoy living. It's better than being dead. Also, I believe that the little things in life that are to be enjoyed as well as the big things.

Wisconsin cows are happier than those in California. Don't listen to that propaganda. We don't need to make up stories about how our cows are happier than others because cows here actually are happier. Also our cheese is better, they're full of it. Wisconsin gets all 4 seasons and our cows love that too. No smog or constant draught, ect... No cow likes being stuck in traffic or having their fields so full of other cows. Plenty of green grass to graze on here.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Does ET exist?
Only human vanity would assume otherwise.

Should we transmit a beacon?
No. If we do we must hope that a race unlike ours responds. The human race has a startling number of good points and almost an equal number of bad. We have not evolved sufficiently to take the risk. We must consider not only how we will be treated but how we will treat others.

Why do I run Seti@home?
I started it as a contest with my friend Bruce & now he's gracious enough to be processing workunits with me. That's Bruce, he's a good person. Several other friends help too. Harry you reading this?

Actually it's an excuse to "upgrade" my cpu power. Thinking about another upgrade as I write this. I just can't get enough cpu power.
