Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I feel that we would be very stupid to believe that there is even the possibility that we are the only inteligent life forms in the universe.

I think that it might be possible to transmit a beacon, however I question weather or not an extraterestrial civilisation would be able to understand it.

I run seti@home because I think that it is an amazing idea to use lots of computers to process lots of data faster. I think that allowing the general public to be involved is a great idea because the knowledge of the exhistance of extraterestrial civilisations is knowledge that would belong to everyone and not just a select few in the scientific community. I believe that seti@home could be improved by making the application open source so that people who have some programming knowledge to change it and submit enhanced versions that may operate more efficiently.
