I'm a 23 year old Software Engineer originally from Doncaster, UK now living in down the A1 in Newark. My favourite things in no particular order; motor racing (especially formula 1 -- go Ferrari ;-)), drinking, TV (star trek & sg-1), twivia, pool (like snooker but with smaller tables), IRC, music (rem, u2, oasis, shed seven and similiar), and other pub and coach potato activities. Things I hate; other road users, people infront of me in a queue, and more of the same...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Intelligent life on other worlds? Yes, why not, life is not so much a big miracle, I think we already proved it can exist almost anywhere there is water. On the scale of the universe the probabilty is against us being alone.
Send a beacon out? We do that already... No reason to really send out a specific message.
Why run SETI? I dunno really.. I'm not seriously expecting this project to turn up any results.. but there is always in the back of the mind the thought... "It's just possible that..."
