Personal background
I'm from Newcastle in the UK
Thats Geordie land to anyone who knows Newcastle. We Geordies drink alot and are obsessed with our Football team (that's Soccer for you yanks!).

I'm 21, and currently struggling through my Degree at Uni.

I'm into computers and Kayaking, tho I'm sure EVERYONE on the site is into comupters.... and space while i'm thinking about it!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I love this SETI program, as it makes me feel that my PC is doing something usfull for once, rather than just playing Games or MP3's. And its also a great Benchmark to see if all the upgrades I do to my PC actualy make SETI go faster!!

Extraterrestrial Life? Must exist, the may only be a tiny chance of it, but there are so many star's in our galaxy, so many chances of Planets, and so many Galaxies it must be out there..... somewhere!

Dangers, I don't think there will be many dangers (other than a sudden influx of cuddly space alien toy's!). As we're just to far way for anything to get to us.

A beacon? Well like I said nothing is going to get to us so transmit away, might as well find out if there is something out there. I'm 21 now, so I'd like to know if there was alien's before I die, so I reckon you have about 60 years to find out, TOPS! So pick some stars under 30 Light Years away, and get transmitting!!
