Profile: Paul Morris

Personal background
I am 38 and from a small place called Cardigan in Wales. I now live in Hampshire, England working as an I.T. Manager.

I have always been fascinated with anything to do with space and the search for extra-terrestrial intelligence. I have been running the S.E.T.I. program for over 14 years on a number of PCs.

My favourite movie has to be 'Contact'. It addresses what would happen if 'that' signal was received and how mankind would deal with it.

I am glad to be doing my bit to help :-)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
My opinion is that extraterrestrial life does exist and in time to come human kind will, through advances in technology, find out more and more about what is actually 'out there'. I am unsure that it will be in this lifetime, as in my opinion we will find out small amounts of information in large amounts of time.

The benefits are the possible new wealth of knowledge available to mankind, new meaning to life and never again feeling alone in the universe. The dangers are how we would deal with it and the threat of war in an extreme cases. Life as we know it could be turned upside down.

I run SETI@home to be a part of the big project and to help as much as possible to find the answer the that big question - 'Are we alone?'
