Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Personally I believe that life does exist elswhere in the universe. However I think that it might not necessarily be intelligent life. I don't think we will discover life soon unless we push more money into human space exploration projects. That of course would require the establishment of other sources of fuel as well as the establishment of human outposts. The inherent danger of such discoveries I believe is the possibility of new diseases/virus/parasites being introduced or even species that could cause significant harm to us as a race.
