Personal background

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I love the idea of the whole world searching for extraterrestrial signals and I wanted to be part of that group of people.

I am unsure about the beacon because it would prove difficult and the energy needed to have it transmitted in a sufficient strenght would be extravagant.
However should there ever be such a signal it would have to be simple enough to be found but also complex enough to be recognized as intelligent message.
Number come in mind but as it is hard to tell which system a difference culture would produce (binary, decimal, hexadecimal...) it would hardly be recognized as intelligent.
Best might be a constant number of peak over a period of time that increases. Like morse code but really short.
