I was born in Argentina in 1960, but moved to Brazil in 1987. I received a MSc degree in applied math from IMPA (www.impa.br) and a PhD degree in applied computing from INPE (www.inpe.br). I currently work at the Universidade Federal de Alagoas. My research interests are statistical computing and complex systems, in particular synthetic aperture radar image processing and analysis.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I prefer to donate to projects and ideas that do not have an immediate practical appeal.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
