Is there life 'out there'? - I would like to believe there is. It would be a crying shame if we were the only beings to be able to see the majesty and grandeur of the universe. As for contacting them, that is a scenario fraught with dangers - for us, and quite possibly for them also.
As a race, we are barely able to tolerate each other (and often we do not), how we would react to people from an entirely different planet is unknown. We will just have to wait and see ;)
I am, however, very pleased to have the opportunity to be part of a project to discover signs of extra-terrestrial intelligence, and hopefully, we will get answers to some of our questions. But we should remember the old saying: 'Be careful what you ask for - you just might get it ;) |
