Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do I think extraterrestrial life exists? Its got to. In this day and age, people need something to belive in with a little more Ooomph to it than religion. Extraterrestrial life fits the ticket perfectly. Weather there here already, or are us who are travelling back in time to check out their primative and aggressive past, theres certainly something out there.

Should we transmit a beacon? Yes, i would have thought we do already, with all the violance and war on the TV and radio thats getting transmitted to far out worlds, its no wonder we havent been visited. Lets face it, if you were an alien and you had the choice, would you come here to get executed, or have to proove your existance in a court? Sure, a beacon should be transmitted, but one warning them to stay away until weve learned how to control our emotions to a degree where we dont turn to violance as the final solution to everything!

Why have i got seti running at home? Because im as curious as the next man to know if we really are alone or not.

Lets hope that we pull this off, and find something.

PS: Hats off to the S/W engineers and design team who engineered this marvelous piece of distributed engineering. Have you ever thought about talking Bill Gates into putting something like this in the Windows default screen saver list? Worth a try?

PPS: The Picture is of me and my girlfreind Laura.
