Profile: Arrakis Moore

Personal background
Hi! I am 19 years old, and am attending the University Of Utah where I am majoring in psychology. I am completely obsessed with space, and anything to do with it. My dream and goal is to become an astronaut and be able to go to space one day for myself.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do believe that there are other intelligent beings out there. I don't think that we will be the ones to contact them, but that we will be the ones who will be contacted, and SETI is a wonderful way to make sure that we don't miss that contact. I have no idea what the possible benefits/dangers of such a contact would be though. We have no idea what their morals or beliefs could be. Look at the differences between the cultures on our own planet. If the differences can be that great from one country to another, imagine the differences from one planet to another.
I do think that it is a good idea that we sent out our own beacon and the information on it was chosen well in my opinion. There is no point in trying to hide our own existence and only try to look for others; we have been screaming out into the galaxy that we are here since we first discovered the radio wave and how to use it.
