I'm an IT Support person working in a country town called Traralgon in Victoria, Australia.
I am 37 years old, Married and other than my wife and children computing is one of my passions. I also enjoy and collect DVD's (particularly Sci-Fi) and enjoy a good book.

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I personally don't doubt that an ET exists, somewhere and in some form. Intelligent? That I dont know but I like the odds, afterall we are here arent we? Simply look up and try to imagine how vast space is over distance and time.
Blindly transmitting a signal could possibly draw attention to ourselves one day and it would be neive to think that every living and intelligent being would want to be kind and good. Whilst I believe that we should attempt to make contact I also believe we need to be aware of the dangers of this as well.
I run seti@home as I like to think that my small contribution may help one day contact and further Humankind's step into the future of space. |
