Profile: David Haswell

Personal background
Hi! I'm 25 years old and I come from Durham in the UK. I work for Sage Software on there technical support help line (so I'm one of those people who tells you to "Read the [rude word] manual before you ring us!" After you've waited for 10 minutes in a queue.) As well as being kind of into computers I'm also a presenter for Durham Hospitals Radio (which is a bit of a laugh) and I play trumpet in a band. And, er...that's about it. That's me in six lines of text...sad eh? ...I know what I'll do, I'll leave you with a snipet of a biog of me that a freind and I sent to some TV companies trying to get the sitcom we wrote made...

David sees life as a never ending struggle against the forces of evil, but tries to have a laugh while he’s struggling. He hopes to be able to bring his skewed view of things to the general public through his writing and radio careers. And if he can’t, well, he’ll just keep doing it by answering the phones at Sage.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Crumbs, I hope there is more life out there. If we're all that there is I think I'll go and shoot my self now. Imagine a universe populated entirely of humans, squabbling over dusty, godforsaken planets, just like we do now here on Earth. I think that if we do find life in space it might just give people a bit of perspective down here and that's why I've been helping with SETI@home, thant and the fact it would be pretty cool to be the bloke that found the signal...
