Personal background
Hello all,

I'm from Cape Girardeau, MO and I am a 29 year old college student. So I wanted to take a few years off and relax a little. Maybe not the best thing I've done in my life but it's O.K. now because I'm going back getting a good grade. I met a wonderful woman while going to school and I'm getting married in May 2002 ...WOW!! --> Life is definately good.Later for now ... I'll write more after the wedding---- SEEZYA!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1:) I definately believe it exists. I've always thought "How bold of us" to think we're the only species out there in all the vast space where so much is still left up to ... well guess?? I believe we will find each other when the time comes. I think they are searching for us as badly as we are searching for them and I think there will be all benefits. I wonder if there might be "accidental" risks however such as a certain kind of bacteria they possess and deem as harmless that could potentially wipe us away and our common cold might disintegrate them to a pulp. Those things might have to be tested from a distance or something, but everything they've done as an existance could benefit us and everything we've done could benefit them as well. It's a quiet limitless possibility for growth, knowlege and intellect.

2:) I thnk there should definately be a beacon sent and maybe it could include a little of our history. Maybe our language. Our wishes to benefit from each other. Our fears of biological troubles. Maybe a little hint about our chemical makeup and understanding of technology.

3:) I decided to run seti for several reasons. One, because I leave my computers running all day anyways and not even home so It's a waste of energy that I could use for the good of mankind. I like watching the frequencies of the data as it is processed. I would like in future editions for more utilities, helps, graphics ect... that would help me enjoy learn and understand what it is that is going through my machine. I think the project is wonderful and I am glad to be part of it and help in any way possible.
