Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The possibilities of extraterrestrial life are bountiful. We can't be the only intellegent life out there. I sometimes wonder if it exists here! One of the benefits could be that we could benefit from other technologies, such as curing incurable diseases, yet on the other hand, there are tremendous dangers inherent with this. Would we be eliminated for what meager resources we have available? Or would whoever found our signals be a more peaceful type race? Many questions abound.

We are probably already sending beacons with our existing technology. We did send Voyager out with welcome greetings and what not, so I think that is already a good embassatorial guesture.

I guess I run Seti@home just to help with the project. Why leave my computer on without anything to think about? It make it worth the power useage and does something constructive.
