Profile: Jim Crawford

Personal background
I'm 57 years old and jst retired 8-1-01. I was an engineering design manager
for holter recorders (ambulatory recorders of heart EKG's). I'm avidly working
on several genealogical volunteer projects. I have 1 cat at home, Tisha (pro-
nounced TEE-shah). I live in Orange County California, but was born, raised,
and educated in Michigan.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
E-T life probably exists in some form, but the key is the "I" in SETI. If the
life does not closely match us in intelligence, we probably won't make contact.
Consider a primitive ancestor flaring up a campfire in a pattern, waiting for
a response from outer space.

Nonetheless, this project is a great undertaking
and whoever came up with the idea of taping idle computer power should receive
the U.S. equivalent of knighthood (presidential medal of freedom?).
