Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am a firm believer that extraterrestrial life exists somewhere. If they are more advanced than us I'm not totally sure that they would use something as primitive as radio communications along the EM spectrum. I have a feeling they might utilise something like tachyons or fast photons. they would have to be more advanced simply due to the length of time the radio signals take to reach us.
I don't think we should start a conversation there is a danger we could interest while waiting for a reply or funding could be cut or the ETI's might not be exactly pleased to know we found them depending on their civilization views Extraterrestrial life. We may find ourselves the centre of some unwelcome attention.
I run SETI@home because I for one would like to know that we are not alone and that somewhere there maybe a planet where the inhabitants dont constantly fight amongst themselves over trival things.
