Profile: Mike Boggan

Personal background
My name is Mike, I am an aircraft Ground Engineer, 50 years old.
Seti@home gives me the opportunity to help in the search for other civilisations, A search that I am willing to take part in, for as long as my time on this Earth will allow.
I have always been interested in the Stars. I am currently helping my local SETI group to build a new space centre. It will consist of 1 optical and at least 3 radio telescopes. We have completed the construction of the optical telescope dome. The radio telescopes framework has also been completed.

You can find us here..http://www.seti.org.au/
I am looking forward to getting all the equipment working..."Look out ET, we are coming for you"...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
It would have to be a mathmatical certainty that life exists elsewhere in the Universe, Though what form it would take, is open for discussion.
I for one, am not worried about the dangers of contacting other life forms, why should I, I am more concerned about the state of my home planet, and the almost non existant search for Earth crossing Asteroids.
Most certainly we should transmit a beacon, although we have been doing that for a long time, though what other life forms would think of "Jerry Springer" boggles my mind!!!!
I run SETI@home to help in my own small way, in solving the eons old question,
"Are we Alone"?
My photo was taken many years ago....
