Personal background
I am a (stressful) computer programmer and system administrator. Aged 24, and already losing most of my hair (the picture was taken a long long time ago). I enjoy to work with computers, OS, Linux, networking and stuff. Yeah, a computer geek some might say. Back in college days I have an intranet server called 'Aftech' and people start calling me that name. I have a lot of interests but I can't stick to any hobby by just sitting in front of a PC all the times... Because of that, I'm putting up weight!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do think ET exist. We will find them if we try hard enough. :) Benefits? Well transfer of technology would be nice. Dangers? Well, inter-galaxy war is scary. There'll be lots of cultural differences (even on earth people can't seem to get along with each other, now we are talking about different planets or galaxies, you do the math!)

Well, I am not sure what a beacon can do... but it'll be nice if we can send them nice greetings.

I started in my college days... on and off... but now I have a lot more unutilized PCs to handle.. I have a small seti farm now... I even run seti on my own PC, running Red Hat Linux on a 2.0GHz Celeron... never seems to give me any problem...

I am kinda addicted to seti now...
