Personal background
I use a Power Macintosh Dual 1Ghz G4 and a Pismo Powerbook to run Seti. Why would anyone want to use anything else?

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Let's be real. The chances of SETI finding extraterrestrial life is as close to impossible as you can get while still being possible. Not only will transmissions have to have been sent strong enough for us to detect, they have other hurdles to get over.

They have to have been sent during the period of time that the "civilization" was still using radio and during a time far enough in the past that it will get here during the period of time that we are listening.

If there is really intelligent life out there, explain why we have so many people using Windows?

I run SETI because it's fun to watch, but don't think for a minute that we are going to find "ET".

No. This does not mean that I don't believe there is life elsewhere in the universe, only that SETI won't find it.
