Personal background |
I'm just a perpetual student, pounding the snooze button on the alarm clock of life. I wanted to be doctor but instead opted for paleobotany. Finding no reasonable career options in that field, I switched to law school. I have always enjoyed reading about conspiracies; I think in some browsing on that topic I found seti@home. That, however, could be the conspiracy. Perhaps you people were tricking me. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
It seems more probable than not that extraterrestrial life exists. However, I don't think that we will ever find it without leaving our current astronomical environs. Too much space, too much distance. And why would they want to talk to anyone who couldn't get more than a light second and a half off their own darned planet. I think that the project is important because we may be able to help some extraterrestrial parents catch their drunk extraterrestrial teens messin' around (I'm thoroughly convinced that will be our first contact, if any occurs, with aliens). |
