Profile: Phil & Carol

Personal background
Hi,
we live together in Horsham UK. We both work and are probably the happiest people on the planet.
We are both cyclists and have four cats. Although we are British, we met in the Falkland Islands
and want to go back there sometime. Carol visits her Mum who lives there and we met when I used to stay with her Mum.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
We think the SETI project is a great idea. The prospect of finding extraterrestrial life is interesting:
does sentient life exist out there? It would be nice to think so, but as to whether they have the curiousity to look for us,
we are split on that. Phil thinks it unlikely, while Carol would like to think so.
It's heartwarming to think that this PC does some work while we sit and watch TV or go out for a ride.
Wouldn't it be cool if this was the machine that found something? I think that's why we all do it.
However, if we do find something, will we even be able to do something about it? Will 'they' still exist?
Would they want us to contact them?
What if we are the only ones here?
