Ofcourse extraterrestrial life exists. Anyone saying otherwise is either stupid or ignorant. Do anyone honestly belive that in this vast universe, we are the only intelligent life?
And yes, humans should transmit a beacon. It should not contain any music since aliens might for some reason think of it as something aggressive. What it should do is contain litterature and simple voice recordings about who we are.
