Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run seti because i am sure we are not alone in space. I realy think we will find something.
Beside that i have my doubts about the value of finding signals from outerspace.
Its like seeing the stars at the sky, we see them, but do they still realy exist, considering the maybee 100.000 year or so the light of those stars needed to reach us. Its the same with radio signals. We can only prove that there once was intelligent life out there but that doesnt mean that there still is.
And if there still is life at the place we found, they were able to send radio signals 100.000 years ago, so shouldnt they be able to reach us when their technology should be 100.000 years more advanced than ours?
All interesting questions to which i happily donate my idle cycles.
