Personal background
I am originally from the UK, but now live in Australia. I have lived all over the East of Australia and currently live in Canberra.

Currently work in OHS and Risk Management areas. I love the environment and so I run a diesel car which only uses 4.6 litres/100km (60 mpg imperial) and captures all the carbon emmissions. It is actually cleaner emmissions than a natural gas car!
My hobbies include fiddling around with PC's (which I have done for many years), Star Trek (yep I'm a trekkie and got married in "First Contact" uniform and wrote our own star trek vows). I also have a bad habit - aviation. I like to fly choppers, fixed wing and ultralites as money allows...

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run Seti because most of the time I am only using about 10% of system resources.
I have run it on and off since it it began on some very old 486 PC's.

I also think that distibuted computing, or arrays are a really cool idea and
have done since I first put my hand on an old IBM series 1. Go
Google!

I think the project is a great idea. I think many of us think that we are not
alone in the universe, and I think that if only one thing comes out of the project,
that it is proof that there is life on other planets. It would be a terrible
waste of space
(excuse the pun) if we were the only life in the
known universe.
