Personal background
I am 15 and live in the UK. I support Ipswich Town FC but i also play badminton for my county, Suffolk. I am also interested in astronomy and have a 6" Helios Reflector telescope. My interests in astronomy have brought me to the stage where I want to make astronomy a more recognised topic so i am building a website called The Universe @ Home which narates the story of the universe, the planets around us and other astronomy related things. After my GCSE's i want to continue my studies onto A-level and then hopefully gain a scholarship with the RAF allowing me to become a pilot either in multi-engine, rotary or fast-jet aircraft.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that ET exists because of the vastness of space. Space is so huge that it's almost impossible that we as a planet are unique. I believe that the most probable wy of discovering ET is by methods such as SETI. This is because we probably won't see them unless they invade us! I believe that the ideas which were sent on the voyager probes were good because they showed simply who we were and how to get to us even if they were difficult to understand!
9The seti@home project is a good idea because it involves the world in the search and increases the chances of uncovering something. I hope ET does phone home, our home.
