Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Extraterrestrial life? Odds are they exist. Only a fool would argue otherwise. Benefits are wisdom, knowledge and decent conversation. Dangers are we might learn something we don't want to know. As to the beacon, come on, we're already pumping megawatts of RF across the whole EM spectrum into space. Given enough time the whole damned universe will probably answer us. I use SETI 'cause I would like to see contact in my lifetime or at least see it after my lifetime. I think the project is noble. We cannot live on this planet forever and eventually, we must travel somewhere else or perish. It would be nice to have an invitation from some other life form to visit before we go. It's not nice to arrive without an invitation.

Keep it up (hope is all we have).......
