Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The thought of exterrestial life not existing is quite sad and limiting. I hope we can answer that question within my life time.

Humans most likely will be found by another species before we find them.

I refuse to belive that another civilization has been here before since the amount of energy that would be required upon another civilization to carry out such an exploration would most likely want to make them say hello. (to more than some guy in a trailer park in kentucky).

The benefits of discovering another civilization would demand major social, political and most importantly thelogical changes to take place. We can no longer say we are the only ones to inhabit the universe.

We should most definatly transmit beacons! It should say "Rational people of the planet Earth are being held hostage by a civilization that is cloaked by supernatural belifes. HELP!!"

I run SETI@home for the reasons listed above.
My only suggestion would be to never stop! Please...
