Profile: Calypsoboy

Personal background
i am a 60 year old retired Public Officer, at the present time I am living in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Originally I am from Trinidad & Tobago, which explains my e-mail address as Calypsoboy, T&T being the land of the "Steelpan" and Calypso.
I have always been fascinated with computers, andmy love for Science fiction has brought me to the point where I believe that 'fiction' is not a very real word any more.
I would like to hear from anyone who has used SETI@home and found ways of getting to know it better.
peace and love my friends.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do you think extraterrestrial life exists?...Yes I do, I see no reason to believe that we Earthlings are the only life force in this vast universe.

What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?...This is not an easy question to answer, so far we have only been hinting at a possibility of good and bad, speculation.

Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find?...Definitely.

What information should we send?…Hard to say, but this world is a virtual ‘transmitter’ so I think we are already transmitting.

Why do you run SETI@home?…Interesting question, I like the software, I like the screensaver, but I believe the people at Berkeley are onto something, and I would like to be a part of it.

Any suggestions?… None at this moment but I will comment when I believe I have something positive to add.
