Personal background
I am 24 years old, and have always had a love for outerspace, and what is out there in the universe. I've just now recently become aware of the SETI@home project, and am very happy to have become involved in such an incredible undertaking. I am from a small town in Connecticut, with a beautiful look of the night sky.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I definitely think that there are other lifeforms out there, waiting to be discovered, and wanting to be discovered. I think given time and progress, we will be able to find something in the vastness of outer space, or possibly someday travel there. There are endless benefits to exploration. Cures for diseases, knowledge of who we are and where we came from. Most importantly we will know we are not alone in the universe. Of course, there could also be consequences, as evil does exist, or perhaps it just exists in many of our hearts.

2. We should definitely transmit, even if it is something as simple as letting others know we exist, and to come seek us out as well. I would send pictures, sounds, thoughts.

3. I now run SETI@home, to help make a difference in that search, hoping to someday find someone else besides us out there. I give nothing but my encouragment that the project continue successfully, and even in trying, there is success.
