Personal background
Primarily 3d-artist, but also teaching a lot in computergraphics-related stuff. Used computers since 1980, spanning from homebuilt systems, to VIC20/64 to Amiga and now PC´s in various forms and configurations.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes, I do believe that we´re not alone as intelligent species. I think that it will happen, as soon as we have technology to reach out further in the universe, and I think that the benefits outweighs the potential hazards.

2. Sure. Broadcast some information that could be understood by other intelligent beings, such as maths.

3. I think Seti@home is one of the first real showings of how powerful the internet can be, using all those idle cpucycles that otherwise goes to waste. The project is valuable not only for it´s predominant purpose of searching for extra-terrestrial life, but also for using global resources for a good cause.
