Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe it would be ignorant to dismiss the idea of life somewhere other than our own terra firma. The universe is still very much undiscovered and it is difficult for me to think we are the sole life forms throughout this great expanse. But even more difficult is the thought that we might encounter whatever life exists beyond our planet. I would question the need for another intelligence to search us out and purposely make any type of personal contact if they were so advanced as to do so. I believe the future of our own humanity lies in self preservation and improvement, not so much in exploring other galaxies and making some form of physical contact. Having stated these opinions, I am still very curious and anxious to hear some sort of news of the existance of life somewhere other than here.
