Personal background
i am from the toronto canada area and am 46 years old
i work in entertainment as a lighting tech. my hobbies well anything that
i find interesting at the time.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
yes they exist and they will find us.
we should transmit a beacon and it should be mandatory that all pc's use seti's
screensaver/software it would help to offset their cost and time so they can buy
new equipment.
i am using it because i find it interesting and my kids are fasinated by it
i suggest a ranking system for kids
like you know a star for every unit completed, and after lets 10 units they
get a pin sent to them
1 unit=1 star
2 unit=2 star
3 unit=3 star
4 unit=4 star
5 unit=5 star
6 unit=6 star
7 unit=7 star
8 unit=8 star
9 unit=9 star
10 unit=10 star
when this is compleated you send a pin to them ( star)
until they have 5 pins of stars, so that is 50 units they must compleate
after this for every 10 units you send them a pin of a telescope, a satalite dish, whatever, somthing that they can be proud of and have been a part of
screen savers are nice but kids and adults like to tell their friends of their accomplishments, gee's look at the star trekies.
this whole thing is a great thing
oh by the way the color of the stars should be gold not real gold of course
or some alloy they would use in space, hey you guys are the scientist you can figure this part out
