Personal background
---
My name is Brett, and I live in South Georgia, USA. I am currently 29 years old, born in March of '76. My occupation is a maintainance technician in a chicken processing plant. My hobbies include, but are not nessasarily limited to, computers, volunteer firefighting, Amatuer (Ham) radio, electronics, radios in general, and aquariums. I became interested in SETI@home when I visited a friend's house while still in high school, and his dad had SETI@home running on several computers. Years later, when I actually had a computer of my own, I remembered it and asked the guy how I could participate, and have been running it ever since.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home

Why do I run SETI@home? What if.....
...there is intelligent life on other planets, in other solar systems?
...that intelligent life is trying to contact us?
...and any number of other similar questions.
How do you get the worlds' most powerfull computer? Simple! Use thousands of computers from all over the world! It seems to me that, if there is intelligent life elsewhere, then this is the way to find them. Extremely cheap, yet extremely powerfull computing! |
