Personal background
Hello - my name is Jason Oglesby. I am 23 and have been working with computers most of my life. My hobbies include Ham Radios, Networks / Computers and the Internet. I work for an Integration / Rollout company and provide Integration and Technical Support for Kmart, Advance Auto and the Pharmacy market in general.
I am a Search and Recovery / Rescue Scuba Diver (when permitted) - I have moved 3 times in the last 2 or so years, so its been hard for me to keep something stable as far as SAR Volunteer work.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I don't know of extraterrestrial life exists, although I do know there are very strong opinions both ways. I've spoken with people who've been to (and inside) Area 51 and they claim they exist, meanwhile other people I've talked to debunk the whole ideas and theories presented.
I am a "Believe it when I see it" type of person - I am not going to totally discount the idea of someone else living in the vast Universe, but I also am not going to waste much of my personal time trying to prove / disprove it.
I will, however, help the SETI@Home team search and if they (or anyone else) ever find anything, then I'll have to believe it!

I don't think it matters of humans transmit a beacon of some sort - if aliens are as intelligent and technology advanced as we suspect (if they exist) then anything we can send / say / do / show has been outdated... if they wanted to make contact, they could. And if they wanted to destroy us, I think they could.

I think it'd be fun to have one of those floating space craft tho... wonder what type of "go-juice" they run on?!?!?

As far as the reasoning behind me running SETI@Home is ...
#1. Gives my computers something to do when I am not using them
#2. Gives me an interesting conversation starter when someone asks who's never seen anything like it before
#3. I would hope I was the person to find something before anyone else... why? I dunno... Just to say I did!

And as far as suggestions - give us a way to reset our passwords!!!!!!
I had a HUGE problem in retrieving my password - and what makes it worse, it wasn't anything I had decided - it was server generated and I cannot change it! This makes it much more difficult to remember!
