Personal background
I am a 32 year old American Red Cross Disaster Relief Logistics Officer. I travel the country providing disaster assistance to level 3-5 disasters. Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
If we developed here than there are probably other planets similar to ourselves in the galaxy who also developed life. I also believe that we would be vein to think that life such as ours is the only type out there. There are most likely life forms so much more advanced than ourselves that we probably look like an amebea in comparason. We should continue to look for signs of other life out there, but should remain weary that what we find may not be as nice as Puff n Stuff, they could be hostile or defensive. We need to keep looking but if we continue to send signals we need to be prepared to defend ourselves in case what we find isnt as polite and cuddly as Alf. This is a great project which needs to be continued and well funded.
