Personal background
Hello everyone!! My name is Rodrigo and I'm from San Pedro Sula, Honduras. I'm 22 years old and I'm studying Systems Engeneering at a local University.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
About SETI. First thing is first: I do believe that extraterrestrial life exists. Where? I don't know. When are we gonna find em'? Only God knows (I do also believe in God). And besides SETI, who else is seeking out for them?? Nobody!! That's why I think that SETI is doing human race a big favor. I think that it is absurd that in the infinity of the cosmos there is no one else but us; that would make us something like a phenomenon (read as "freak") of the everything that exists. Maybe they are more primitive than us and that would make contact very difficult; maybe they are as advanced as us, and then they'd also be eager to meet us, or finally maybe they are much more advanced than us, then they are already seeking for us (or already found us but don't want us to know about them for some reason).
About Extraterrestrial Life Have you ever thought about what would happen if we find real proof that extraterrestrial life exists?? And if extraterrestrial intelligence does??? That would so rock this world!! I believe everyone has an idea of what would happen, but I think that most people have a hollywoodesque vision of that event (too much movies about that). But the scenario that I think is most probable is that we find in a near future some kind of primitive organism somewhere in our Solar System. But it would be so nice to find ET intelligence somewhere out there. Lets just be patient. If you want you can send me an e-mail so we can talk more about it at r.lopez@unitec.edu . Regrets.
