Personal background
Hi , I'm a 53 year old guy from Vienna , Austria living in São Paulo , Brazil since 17 years....
In Austria I was into law , taking ( trying to take) care keeping the Austrian music and video market free from piracy , here in Brazil I deal with real estate and am the owner of two TexMex joints.... ( have a look at my site if you feel like it , sorry , all written in Portuguese)....
What else...? I'm the proud father of six kids ( 5 boys , 1 girl) and I love the fruits ( many of which you most probably have never heard of ) and fruit juices in this country... how does jabuticaba , cupuaçu , acerola , açai , graviola ( to name just a few ) sound to you...?
Come on over and treat yourself to these delicacies.... and this is also how you may "catch" an ET..... I have one living with me undercover, he got hooked on the fruit juices and doesn't even want to know about calling home to be picked up....
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
There simply M U S T exist et-life... it does ... I know....

just to find and enter into contact with intelligent , technically farther advanced et's seems to me , as pessimistic as it may sound , pretty "difficult"... especially due to the vastness , the distances , the (to be expected short) life spans of any living being...
I wish I could hope for some et-civilization , capable of near light speed travel within , say , a radius of 25 light years...
but who am I to doubt all this and think that such an advanced civilization , even if from another galaxy , couldn't make it to our planet...?

A beacon , yes , definitely..... let the hypothetical et's know where and who we are and invite them to join us in peacefull efforts for the best of both....
( sounds slightly pathetic but I mean it ...)

I run SETI because from the moment I learned about it I was fascinated by this chance of me participating in such an ambitious project even if my input is as small as a twinkling star in the sky....

What convinced me most though to go ahead and really run it was that it is really wiser to help this project than having flying toasters sail across the screen....
