Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Extraterrestial life does exist. As a human race, that's more important than anything else. We need to find another population of beings to conquer so that we can spread like viruses do. It's what we do best and that's essentially all we know how to do. Nonetheless, transmitting a beacon for others to find seems ideal given the circumstances here, but let's hope that the aliens don't get any bad ideas. After all, I'd hate to see them perceive us as masochistic beings after watching embarassing movies like "Boys and Girls," "Summer Catch," and other movies with Freddie Prinze, Jr. Hopefully our alien brethren will not buy into that crap because a good proportion of people here in the US and here in Berkeley think that "Boys and Girls" is a great movie, unfortunately. I know this because "Boys and Girls" was supposedly filmed here in Berkeley, and let me tell you...the movie makes absolutely no sense. (How do you get on the airport shuttle and arrive at the Golden Gate bridge in 2 seconds from Berkeley? YOU CAN'T! Why? Because Berkeley is one city and San Francisco is across the god damn BAY!!) And one other thing: I see dead people...in my sleep. But, that's something different and I've went too far off on a single tangent. By now, you probably think I have issues or forgotten to take my Ritalin, and, to be frank, I won't deny it. Nevertheless, in the purest of all reasons, I run SETI@home because it gives my laptop something to do in its idle time.

One other thing: that's not me. :)
