Personal background
My name is Lori and I am 40 years old and married to a wonderful man, who is my soul mate. We will be married 9 years on Aug 7th. We have no children together, by choice. He has 3 children from previous relationships, 27 year old twins, Jason and Jennifer. They have both given us a grandchild, Drew - 5 years old (Jason's) and Lily Anna - 7 months old (Jennifer's). He also has a 22 year old daughter, Amy. We have a painting business, Excalibur Painting. Gary is the painter of the family, but since I am at this time recently unemployeed I am also working with him. A new experience for me and may decide to keep on doing it. Gary also works at Home Depot in the paint department (where else?). We haven't had much time lately for hobbies or anything else, but we do have 2 dogs, a 11 year old Black Lab - Malibu or BooBoo, for short and Chance, a 7 year old Rat Terrier. We inherited Chance from his daughter Amy, when she moved to her mother's apartment, her senior year of high school.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I definitely think that there has to be life out there somewhere besides our selves. Like they said in the movie Contact with Jodi Foster, "It sure be a waste of space" (something to that effect). I am not sure what will happen when we do locate them or they locate us, but I am very sure it will be interesting! That may be the understatement of the century!

I run the SETI@home program because I feel that I am helping in the search by letting my computer go thru as much collected data as possible. Because of the large amounts of data that has been collected, I feel that I can assist. I do wish that I could make a larger contribution such as more computer time and speed. Hopefully, it will not be long before I can get a bigger, faster, better computer to help.
