Profile: Stephen Hart

Personal background
Harry Flashman is one of the pseudonyms for a Rigel IV invertebrate monopod who does not, of course, have a name (a bizarre Sol III custom).

It is many, many earth years since our craft crashed on this benighted planet. The subspace obflogzilator was irreparably damaged and we could not call for help.

As chief iskrandokulissimus for the expedition I came up with the plan to induce humans to search for deep space signals. Eventually they should discover one of the subspace modulator beacons. Interference between electro-magnetic wave reception and subspace obflogs should alert the committee for quasi-intelligent species who will send an investigative team.

It is a long shot but we are desperate.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Does extraterrestrial life exist? Well, we believe we do but as we said to M. Descartes, we have no direct evidence for this. We go with a working hypothesis of existence based on cerebration.

Humans have already discovered us - they have merely failed to recognise us. Unless slugbait and insecticide are the tools humans usually use in intragalactic diplomacy.

Talk to us sometime. We can tell you the secrets of the universe.
