Profile: Louis-René

Personal background
Im a software ingeneering student at the E.T.S university.
Beside studiing, I love making some programs for the student club S.O.N.I.A sonia.etsmtl.ca.

Im living in the montreal city. Its a pretty big town with a lot of human difference that make Montreal unique.
In case you did not notice my flaky english, montreal is mainly french like the rest of the Quebec Canada province.

The internet is my second home. I am always amazed like the fist time I did go to a bbs.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think that alien life is possible but I do not make it a faith.
I am waiting the proof of all those legends.

But the law of probability are on our side. There is a big chance that we are not alone. So we must be ready to see that proof because once it will appen, the universe is so big that we can fairly miss it for thousand years.

That why I think projects like SETI si soo important.

Also, just technically, SETI at home reach one of the best computing power all driven by internet community. Witch is a good example of cooperation.
There is soo much CPU power wasted. There is too much energy wasted.

I run SETI at home on my internet gateway. Because most of the time, the cpu does nothing.

SETI reuse that energy well. And is a good example how we can solve problems that require an impossible amount of calculation. Briefly, thats a software masterpeice. Even if the software involve are relativly simple.

If there is software that should come free with the operating systems, it should be software like SETI project.
