Profile: MacGreine

Personal background
I am from the Midwest, and are a self-employed Computer Systems Engineer. I am 30 years old, have been an amatuer astronomer since my early childhood, when I first looked up at the night sky and asked, "Are we alone?" this project is, for me, a fantastic opportunity to assist with this great endeavour.

I enjoy reading, writing, bowling, baseball, and a few other things. As a Native American, I often looked up into the night sky, and saw the faces of the my ancestors there. Now, I hope to prove that we did come from the stars.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I belive quite strongly that there is life outside this planet, the odds that there is are too great to not believe. Whether or not humans will find, and be able to establish, contact from other worlds , is the ultimate question. However, that is trivial when compared to the necesity fo the search itself.

SETI at home, to me, is an important extension of a program that never really reached fruition: The Search for Extraterrestial Life. I believe strongly that there is life out there in universe, and the search for it should be as paramount to our society as the exploration of space.
