Profile: TechTvPhreak

Personal background
I am a 41 year old AMERICAN male (the eldest of four (4) children) of European, Asian and Native American extraction. My mother's heritage is English/Irish/Choctaw, my father's is Filipino.

I am currently engaged by a company whose job it is to provide "Food Service" to our American Military Personnel at a local installation. I consider it an honor to serve those who serve us! AND, in my opinion, who are doing a damned fine job of it!

Additionally, I am the owner of team TechTvPhreak, and the administrator/manager/owner an "Interest Group", TechTvPhreak, at Yahoo!Groups, and a personal web site, by the same, TechTvPhreak, name.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I believe that the "Creator" in His infinite wisdom and power was and is quite capable of having created others and having elected not to inform us OR the THEM as to the existence of one another directly.

As far as "when and how" humans will discover ET is yet to be seen.

I don't think it will happen in MY lifetime. But, if it's meant to be then NO power can stop it!

Possible benefits and dangers would and DO certainly abound. It's all a matter of what YOU consider beneficial and/or dangerous!

2. "Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find?"

Let's see...
...we've been doing that for how many years now?

"If so, what information should we send?"

I'm not sure about that one. I'll have to think about it.

3. "Why do you run SETI@home?" Because I think the concept is TOTALLY COOL!
"What are your views about the project?" GO FOR IT!
"Any suggestions?" Only one (1): Is there any way you could program SETI to automatically "DISCONNECT" from the internet after a transfer?
